It's been over a year since I got my XPA2's, I use 2 of them biamped for my main speakers. My system was designed to be bi-amped as there is no crossover for the bass cabinets.
I use a DBX electronic crossover and the whole system is 4 ohms.
While I have posted a review before, I felt it was necessary to post again. I was once an audiophile, going to meetings and drooling over the latest equipment and feeling upgrade fever. I fist got involved in the hobby in 1975 and traveled to popular audio stores weekly with my oldest friend Animo who posts on this site on a regular basis. Like most in the hobby I became involved because I loved music. I, like most, seem to have forgotten this along the way.
I purchased my Emotiva amps to replace a pair of amps that were performing well but something was still missing. I listened to music less and less. I know the specs on my speakers said the sound should be better but measuring them in my room didn't lie. the bass just wasn't there and there was a hardness in the upper midrange that I could not cure. I had 2 friends that were respected speaker designers who went over the numbers with me and said the numbers are there "your speakers should perform better!"
With the XPA-2's in play the sound IS better, much better. All the bass is there, the hardness is gone but the most important thing is the music.
I connect with the music again. I am buying music again. I remember why I got into this hobby again. I am no longer an audiophile and am now just a music lover. I am certainly more relaxed about my system and can enjoy what the sound has to offer me, A connection with the performer.
My thanks to Lonnie and the emotiva team.
