Been wanting to upgrade for awhile now and came across an excellent deal on the Rotel 1560. All I can say is man, things are sounding awsome with my current combo of the Rotel1560 paired with my XPA-3 and Emo speakers. 8.3s for the fronts 6.3 as center and ERDs as the side and back channels. The Detail is amazing.

Got any pictures? I was just looking at the 1560. It looks like a hot number.
BTW - What speakers did you have before the Emos? Do you love them? Do you feel there's any particular aspect of sound at which, to you, they excel, or anywhere they seem weak?

my setup has gone thru multiple changes. I went from the JBL venue series to the EMOs. They (JBLs) were being powered by hk 247. Really like how things sounded with that setup but the issues of audio and video drop out required a replacement. Miss the warm sound with the 247. I moved to the pioneer 1810 avr. Did not sound as good as the 247 with the JBLs. Slightly harsh and bright. Added an LPA-1 with brought more detail to the mix. Went to emofest and heard the Emo line. Decided to upgrade speakers, so I added/upgraded to the 8.3s for fronts 6.3 as center duty and ERD's for surrounds. I even picked up an XPA-3 to drive the fronts and center and left the LPA-1 driving the surrounds. Movies sounded great, the 8.3s perform very well as 2ch music playback. Vocals sounded pretty clear but seemed slightly boomy from the 6.3. I attributed that to the Pioneer no matter what adjustments I made. Still sounded slightly harsh through out. As of late I added the Rotel 1560. It was like I took the ear muffs off. The detail in everything is vastly improved. The imaging also improved during movies and the harsh like effect is gone. The pioneer is a good receiver but does not hold a candle to the Rotel in terms of SQ. Novice speaking here, but that is what my ears are telling me. I will put it this way. My wife even noticed a big difference and for her to comment on something else beside the volume being to loud is jaw dropping. My two cents.

jrobe008, thanks so much for your feedback. I'm looking forward to hearing some Emotiva speakers at some point. Your observations of a relatively low-end Pioneer receiver are spot on. And I'm an admitted fan of Rotel gear, so no surprise there, for me, either. I'm really glad you're enjoying it. I imagine the Emo speakers are decent price/performers, but no giant-toppling, ground-breaking killer speakers - though certainly an upgrade to your JBL's.
