maybe try the Polk forum...at your own risk
I use RTi10s with UPA-1s. Sound doesn't even compare to the sound using my Denon 2808.

I have thr rtia9's which are the newer version of the rti12. I also have the older version rti150's which were the previous model before the rti12's. I have ran them with xpa-1's, xpa-3 and an xpa-5. All I can say is You will love it with an xpa-2. I am now just using an xpa-3 for my front 3. You will be surprised how much better they sound and how much bass it brings out of them.

I bet the XPA1s bring them to life 500w for 500w. ;D

Yes the xpa-1's were amazing on them. I wish I still had the xpa-1's. But the xpa-3 does a great job also. So I imagine to the first poster here that ths xpa-2 has to also sound amazing.

I'm running 2 UPA-1s with my RTI A9s. The speakers sound fantastic. I wish the USP-1 allowed me to run them on full (I need HT mode). Still sound great with the 2.1 setup and the Velo.

It might surprise people how much bass these can put out with an Emo amp. But I must sat my earlier versions of these the rti150's have double the bass the a9's have. Im curious where the rti 12's fall into the bass range of the 3 since they are all about the same just newer versions of each.

I bet the 12 has the same low end as the 9 . My Rti 10s sounded really thin until I hooked up my Carver TFM 45 at 375 into 8 ohms and, they just woke up. I couldn't believe the bass response I was getting from them.

I'm running a pair of Swan Diva 6.2s for my fronts but recently have been lurking on the Polk website reviewing the RTiA9 & A7s.
I'm wondering how much, if any, difference there would be between these speakers.
A lot of you on this thread have Polks so tell me how you like them and why. ;D

I'm running a pair of Swan Diva 6.2s for my fronts but recently have been lurking on the Polk website reviewing the RTiA9 & A7s. I'm wondering how much, if any, difference there would be between these speakers. A lot of you on this thread have Polks so tell me how you like them and why. ;D Well, I have owned Polk speakers since I was 17 years old and , I'm 39 now. So, I've had nothing but, Polk for 22 years with the exception of some DCM Time Frames. I listen to and, demoed many speakers back in the 80's and, the Polks just caught my ear. I have a pair of SDA 2 s manufactured in 84' and, they still sound great. I was a DJ for a good while so, I was out of the home audio circle for years. In 03' when I ended my DJ career, I picked up a pair of RTI 10s which are the older version of the RTiA7s. They sound really good but, the bass is IMO, a little thin. They can also be a bit bright but, accurate. IMO, The RPA 2 is a great match for the A7s ;D ( 300 watts) but, the A9s ( 500 Watts) need the XPA 2 or XPA 1. I believe the harshness issue was addressed in the A7 and, nines. At least, that's what they claim. I have not heard the RTi A series except for the center . I have a CSi A6, I also have a CSi 5 which is basically the same speaker and, I can't tell the difference between the two. I cross them at 80 and, let the subs handle the low end so, it's not that big of issue for me. I felt the Polks were a good bang for your buck type of speaker yet, they are power hogs. I am however, on the hunt for something different maybe a step up.Atleast for my 2 channel.
