Still trying to figure this thing out, but for now, has anyone found a way to get rid of the yellow standby ring. The dim function doesn't do it.
Also, after installing in my entertainment center, NO easy task, it was a little annoying to find no on screen info whatsoever once completed. Pulled everything back out, rechecked all cables and figured I had a bad cable or defective unit.
Power recycled and screen came alive.
Again, REALLY, frustrating experiment.
Thanks Pat

There is no way to turn off the amber light, as far as I have found. When troubleshooting, I always try the easiest fix first, which in this case would have been to power cycle. It's a lot like a computer, when in doubt reboot. Understand your frustration, but apparently you had something hooked up incorrectly as it seems to work now. Replacing equipment is ALWAYS a frustrating experiment. Now for the fun - how do you like it? Oh, welcome to the forum.

Thanks for the reply, I was afraid of that. That yellow ring really stands out.
Actually, I don't think I had anything hooked up incorrectly, I changed nothing physically after pulling the the wall unit back out. After inspecting all connections and switching through every source with no success, I figured it had to be a glitch. Time for a ctr-alt-del.
There's a glitch somewhere, but I realize I've got steep learning curve ahead of me.
Going to calibrate and try the EM-Q today. Ran out of energy after an 8 hour install yesterday.
Replaced an older Lexicon DC2 which seems ancient now. And speaking of Lexicon, I have a Lexicon 5 ch amp with an old two wire trigger input. Tried cutting the ends off of the supplied trigger wire with no success. I suspect the amp needs a larger gauge lead, will try soldering a new wire to the supplied connector
Much to learn & play with.
My wife thinks I'm nuts.
Good Easter to all

As far as I know the only way to turn off the amber standby light on any Emotiva gear is to turn off the main power switch on the back.

I found a game piece from one of my kids games (I think it was a drawbridge or something) and spray painted it black. I just slide it in front of the power button to make it disappear. Since the UPA-7 is triggered, I never have to touch it anyway.
Bottom line is sometimes I want to see the button, sometimes I do not.
I'll make one for the UMC-1 once I get it and just use the remote to turn it on. Problem solved.
