I got a Netflix blu ray copy of LOTR "Return of the king"earlier today.Just finished the last chapter.Very good PQ and awesome lossless soundtrack, but much to my suprise the UMC was not displaying DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 ES Matrix the mix according to www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-Lord-of-the-Rings-The-Motion-Picture-Trilogy-Blu-ray-Review/5174/My Oppo was bitstreaming and the UMC displayed a regular DTS hd master. Someone else to confirmed this?Or is it just the Netflix copy?

I can't comment on LOTR Blu-ray. but if it helps, I don't remember seeing any ES flag showing when bitstreaming "Bolt" on Blu-ray. Some people are reporting this movie as DTS-HD-MA 5.1 ES and others are are reporting it 6.1 discrete. www.blu-ray.com/movies/Bolt-Blu-ray-Review/3766/All I remember seeing was 5.1 from the UMC-1. Maybe it has something to do with the DTS bug that's being worked on. Who knows?

I have seen this with the Movie Transformers (The Rise of the Fallen) DTS-HD Master Audio. My UMC-1 will display Multi PCM not DTS HD. I thought that it was just the BD player but when I had my Denon 2808 connected it would display DTS HD

If you updated your players firmware, the firmware may have reset this back to default multi-pcm out. I guessing Maybe you hit the reset button by accident? If you're bitstreaming, you should be seeing DTS-HD-MA 5.1 with the Transformers 2 Blu-ray I am getting DTS-HD-MA via a Samsung BD-P1590. Native 5.1 and 7.1 PLIIx modes are working just fine.

I have checked all this out on the player already and all updates checked not sure what is going on with it. I am using a Sony BDP S550.
