Yea, I'm refreshing every 15-20 mins or so...I got my UMC on monday and haven't hooked it up yet due to not wanting to pull everything a part to do the firmware update (and im waiting on my blu-ray player to show up). macer, get yourself a USB extension cable that you can discretely tuck away alongside the receiver when not in use. That way you won't have to pull it every time you do a firmware update. I have a feeling this won't be the last one (no implied complaints here, Emo protectors, I loves me my UMC-1!!! ). So save yourself some aggravation. I also recommend an extension for the calibration microphone, as you'll need to rerun Emo-Q (assuming you choose to go down that road) every time you make changes to your system or room layout. Front ports would have been nice for those two inputs, but with a little creative cabling, it's no big deal. --Brett Yea, I'll have to get the usb cable...good idea.

There were numerous reports of firmware update difficulties when using longer USB cables. Just a heads up.

Yea, I'll have to get the usb cable...good idea. Careful with this one. There were numerous reports of firmware update difficulties when using longer USB cables. Just a heads up. I had great difficulties with the first upgrade, and even went so far was to pull the unit from my rack and run with a 18" cable (shortest I had, and certainly well within the spec...) I think the issue was more with the driver than with cable length... Upgrading the driver seems to have cured my woes (I've re-flashed the firmware a couple times since without incident). That said, don't go out and buy a 500' USB extension and expect no issues!
