Hey Everyone, Just got my UMC hooked up, and due to not being able to search for words shorter than 4 characters, I was not able to search for Wii. So I have the Wii hooked up via component cable into the umc, and then out to my TV via hdmi. The Wii is set to output 480p, and looked great hooked up straight to the tv. So my question is, when on the Wii homescreen, it seems very blurred like the resolution isnt right. I have changed the input from auto to passthrough, to 480p, and it just doesnt seem to look right (the text and stuff on the main screen isn't sharp/smooth). When going in and actually playing a game, things seem ok...so I don't know. Wondering if I have a setting wrong, or if anyone else has run across this? Xbox 360 looks great, but it outputs in 1080p native via hdmi. Thanks for any input! Back to playing with the UMC

I have the same thing....I think that it does look incorrect on the home screen but the games seem fine.

Yea, I didn't do a back to back test, but I did load everything up before I swapped out receivers and that is the only thing so far that has jumped out. Just finished watching a dvd, and I didn't notice anything big...My bluray player will be here on monday, can't wait to hear some HD sound... Anyway, maybe the upgrade will fix the Wii problem...

Its not the UMC. I have an iScan VP50 and the menu looks bad, if I changed the wii to be 480i (in the wii, not the scaler) it looked much sharper BUT in game I did not have these issues (a few games looked better with wii set to 480i but most looked better at 480P)

i believe that the video abilities of the Wii to be a downfall IMO. i know its not driven as a eye popping unit vs. its gameplay. but to me its less appealing and to be honest a little embarrassing.

No arguments there! The xbox puts out the nice 1080p graphics...still...you would think some text on a screen in 480p would be able to scale appropriately.
