now that my umc will show up within the month, i am looking at remotes to make the process of ht/audio more user friendly for the family. right now i use five different remotes which makes it all but impossible for my wife to use the system. the harmony one as an option looks good to me as of right now.
would any of you harmony-one remote users give me your thoughts and feedback?

My Harmony One is so simple and intuitive to use, even my kids have no problems at all. There is a bit of a learning treshold when it comes to programming the thing but, once you get into it, it's a breeze.

Unless you need RF... then the URC remotes are really the ticket! Unless you are willing to shell out for the Harmony 900 or 1100 models, which also include RF, but at a much steeper price.

I bought a used Pronto TSU6000, and with a weeks worth of programming I find it far superior to any other remote I've tried. The programming was a bit much but, I rarely if ever have to pick up any other remote. I can't say that about any other remote I've owned.
I can't say how it compares to a Harmony 1, but it is vastly better than the 890 IMHO.

I used to own an Pronto 3000, and even though the initial setup and learning curve were steeper, it was very much superior to the Harmony One I know own. I think it may be possible to get the One to the point were you don't need to go back to the original remotes, but it will take even longer than it did to get my Pronto to that level. I will admit that more hard buttons are better though, even though the large touch screen looks cool, it's not as easily used as real buttons. I don't regret getting the One, but I do miss my Pronto. Although the more I use the One, and it's software the more I'm starting to like it.

Ive done a number of Prontos in my time including a few of the current models..........none of them come close to the ease and simplicity as the Harmony One.................not to mention the Pronto pricetags are outrageous............some of the upper tier models are more than a good amp or processor........rediculous........

I picked up my TSU6000 for $75 on Craiglist, fleabay has similar deals. That was with the recharge cradle, good battery and the serial cable.
BTW I have an old TSU2000 if anyone wants to play with one, free local, or pay S&H, it has the recharge cradle but, you'll need a serial cable.

I love my Pronto remotes but I am the only one who can use them reliably. The family uses One's on all of the house systems, that Help button is a life saver and simply can't be recreated on a Pronto.

I have a One, a 1000 and a 1100. Yeah, I like fancy remotes. I was surprised to find the Emotiva components on the Logitech site. Pleasantly.
