Any news on the new remote for the USP-1? I realize all hands are on the firmware update for the UMC-1, but I have not been able to use my USP-1 since I got my UMC-1 because of the code overlaps.
Not a criticism, just looking for some info.
There was a post a while back that new remotes would be shipped to fix the code problem, but that was quite a while ago. Has anyone heard anything?

If I'm not mistaken, the new remote is for the UMC-1 and not the USP-1. Either way would have taken care of the problem but it is what it is. What I understand is that for those that bought both of the units a free remote would be sent out very soon now. Check with Emotiva for a definitive answer.

Not a criticism, just looking for some info. There was a post a while back that new remotes would be shipped to fix the code problem, but that was quite a while ago. Has anyone heard anything? I spoke with Emotiva this past week on the latest news concerning the FW upgrade and the "Fix Package" for those of us who own both the USP-1 and the UMC-1. Lonnie said that he wanted to make the dual upgrade, for us impactd by the code overlap, to be as easy as possible. Since I last updated Lounge Members that the fix package would contain the new Remote Control and a Front Panel software upgrade to handle the changes in the codes to solve the overlap problem, Lonnie decided to make it easier on us. Now the package will include the New Remote Control and a single disc that will contain the "full FW upgrade" plus the Front Panel software upgrade rolled into a single update session. This supersedes the previous thought of doing the Front Panel and FW Update separately. There will be no need for you to download the FW from the INTERNET as the full FW update will be included on the disc that ships with the "Fix Package". I hope that all makes sense. If I have just confused you, let me know and I will make another stab it relaying the latest info to you. The "Fix Package" will contain the new aluminum remote control and a disc that contains the latest FW release (that we all are waiting for) plus the code update for the Front Panel that will fix the code overlap between the USP and the UMC. The two software updates will be on a single disc in the same box with the remote control. You will NOT need to download the FW as it is on the disc. Lonnie said that they are waiting for feedback from the last few beta testers on the FW upgrade. As soon as that feedback is received (saying that all is good) they will ship the package to all of us USP/UMC owners automatically. Whew, that was a mouthful. The good part of this is that we won't have to download the FW upgrade like everyone else and that our UMC-1 will be fully updated -- including the code overlap problem... not to mention getting that nice new aluminum remote control, free of charge. ;D Please note, Emotiva will be checking their sales records to identify all those customers who bought both the USP-1 and the UMC-1 direct from them. If you own both these units, but did NOT purchase both of them from Emotiva you will need to contact Emotiva to see about getting the "Fix Package".

Any idea on whether the new codes for the UMC-1 will be available for Logitech Harmony remotes?

I talked to Vince this morning about the fix and expected delivery of the fix package. He made it sound like maybe a couple weeks for them to be sent out, but he was not aware of the firmware being included on the cd. Hopefully he just isn't up to date on his information yet.

I think they're probably still figuring out the best course of action. I also imagine they're all consumed by getting the new UMC-1 update out. I know it's been a rough wait, but we probably just have to wait a little bit longer. Once the new firmware is released, and the initial bumps of that upgrade process are ironed out, we'll probably hear what the final plan is for the remote / update / solution is for the UMC-1 / USP-1 remote codes issue.
