Has anyone else performed the firmware update and still have audio dropouts from any HDMI devices? I have the audio dropouts during song changes from my CinemaTube BV-5005HD when it changes songs. The HDMI PCM connection appears to renegotiate every time. So, I'm missing the first couple seconds of every single song, from first to last.
I thought I'd add, with a Denon AVR-3310CI this never happened.

Having the same issue here. When changing songs audio drops out until I go into inputs and reselect the input in use.

Same here. Most annoying when you have "key Tones" enabled on a PS3. The first click can't be hear because the UMC-1 needs to sync to the audio signal first. The UMC-1 stays "connected" and plays sounds as long as there's a continuous audio stream. If the stream is interrupted the whole procedure starts over.
Best, Markus

Changed oppo output from bitstream to lpcm seems to have corrected the dropouts for me.

No such luck here. I have HDMI Raw or HDMI LPCM options with the CinemaTube. It doesn't matter which I choose, I still have the "No Audio" issue whenever a song changes.

Dammit! This is one of the things I thought they were fixing!!!
How about when pausing, fast-forwarding or rewinding Blu-rays? Do you still get the drop out then? This is my biggest pet peeve with the UMC-1.

They've known about this issue for quite a long time now.
I thought their line item: " Enhanced audio lock via HDMI sources to eliminate audio drop outs." meant it was fixed.
It's incredibly annoying to miss the first split second of every new audio track on play from CD or MP3 from my PC. And it seems like the majority of games for my PS3 have menus with no persistent sound... just sound that occurs when I push a button. Thus the sound keeps getting cut way short and sounds terribly unnatural.
When we first brought this up to them they were saying the amount of dropped audio should be in the microsecond range (basically imperceptible) but by my estimation we're talking at least a 1/4 second, if not more, of every sound that occurs after a couple seconds of silence.

I am watching the display of each song that's playing. The missed audio at the beginning of each track is on the order of full 2 to 3 seconds.

Does this issue go away if you bitstream Dolby TrueHD or DTS-MA or whatever instead of use LPCM?
In other words if I sold somebody my fat PS3 and bought a new PS3 would this issue be put to rest?

I haven't had any dropouts yet but it seems like the flags get messed up in the stream. I will fast forward and the center channel audio will start coming out of one of the front or rear speakers and then I have to pause and hit play then it may or may not start playing correctly. It also seems as though the volume is quieter now. I have to turn the volume up 4-5db louder to get the same volume as before.

Well, I'm seeing audio dropouts over optical from my cable box, too. As format shifts happen, like between broadcast and commercials, occasionally the UMC will drop audio. This is a problem that I DID NOT have prior to this FW. Luckily, it seems to silence commercials only (no I dont have any DV active), when the program returns the sound does, too. It does not do it every time.

I've lost the center channel once so far. It "went away" (Could still hear "surround" sounds) when a tornado warning popped up, and didn't come back until I changed inputs (then back)...

Well in the couple weeks I had the UMC I only had maybe 2 or 3 audio dropouts....so far tonight in the past 2 hours...I have had 3 complete audio drops, 6 times where the front stage disappears and only the rears are working and 3 or 4 times where the audio is coming from the wrong speakers..... How do I revert to the old Firmware?

Bummer. I am curious to hear from those who get their UMC's with the FW upgraded by Emotiva to see if they have this issue. I cannot think of a single logical reason why they would have different results than those updating on their own, but it sounds like there may be some folks getting such units as soon as Monday so I am anxious to hear those reports.
I truly hope to hear different reports from those folks because as one waiting for my turn on the UMC pre-order list...clearly - if this issue is not resolved it is a show-stopper for me.

I honestly don't think there's going to be a difference, we're all running firmware that we flashed on there. Units won't be shipping from the factory with this firmware for another few weeks.

I agree - bill - that there likely won't be a difference. But somewhere in this maze of comments on the new FW, I thought I saw someone saying theirs w/the new FW was shipping to arrive Monday. Who knows...we'll see on both counts.

Who knows...we'll see on both counts. What I'm saying is that's a unit that had the old firmware and Emotiva upgraded at their location. Maybe you're thinking that when they upgrade the unit the results are better? I can't argue that possibility at all. I was just saying that it's probably not a unit shipped from the factory with the new firmware. Not that any of this should make a difference, the method of update actually can in some cases.

I just did the FW and now I get NO audio at all from ANY of my sources!!!
All my components are hooked up via HDMI. I get picture, just no sound. Yes my amp is triggering on when it's supposed to. I can't even get sound when I try to run the UMC test tones!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a complete pain in the ass!!
