Ok, sorry to be the bad guy here, but this bucket of bits is not ready for human consumption.
DO NOT try to go into any DSP with Stadium.
I just blew 3 of my Tweeters in my beloved M1's, that will cost me about the price of the UMC 1 to replace.
DSP the unit immedeatly goes to Stadium mode the the volume levels are over the edge and caused major damage to my system.
I know that Lonnie and Dan are trying to keep this thing going, but I am very pissed off right now and would tell them to do more testing before you talk about sending this out.
Also, the Popcorn Hour C200 still does not have audio working via HDMI, only Coax or SPDIF

oh man, I'm sorry to hear that. Didn't Dan say "it just works"? This is not good news.

I'm having so many issues with the v6 firmware that I don't even know where to start describing what the problems are. Had to connect my cable box directly to my TV to be able to watch TV at all... "You get what you pay for" comes to my mind...

Well, coming back from commercial and the volume just started BLASTING. Not sure what's up here. Set to PLIIx.

My unit is much quieter which is actually good. Before I had to turn the volume down sometimes to 8 or 9 which seemed still loud on certain things, now it is at normal levels, mid twenties is comfortable. Just seems much more balanced to me. ratmice, I guess Id try doing another factory default and starting again. Not sure but the only issue I am having now is the treble and bass on parameters not doing anything.

If my UMC-1 blows up my Paradigm Signature S4/C3 v2 surround sound rig, I'm going to be making the drive to Franklin TN to exchange some not so friendly words.
I'm already tired of having paid to be a beta tester. Now I have to worry about this thing taking out the rest of my system. Awesome.

I listened to a pair of your fronts a little while ago and was quite impressed. I sure as hell wouldn't risk it man!

Generally a good idea to avoid DSP like the plague, anyway.

Also, the Popcorn Hour C200 still does not have audio working via HDMI, only Coax or SPDIF With the previous Version Firmware I had no audio via HDMI using my C-200. One of the techs over @ Emotiva said it would be fixed. Now I went through the upgrade and still NO AUDIO via HDMI using the Popcorn Hour C-200. I can get audio from Optical. This ticks me off.

That sucks for people having additional problems. Strange how so many things can be affected, but I suppose so many variables involved in each unique home setup. Makes you appreciate the work Sony and some of the giants are able to do with firmware updates

Well I ended up just redoing the update process and everything seems ok now. Maybe something got corrupted in my initial install.
I only spent about 1/2 hour listening to things, so I didn't give it a serious shake-down, but I did notice that the audio lock-on seems more stable. Before this update, when playing the Akira BD with the 192khz soundtrack, the sound would always get lost any time you paused, rewound or fast forwarded. I tried it a few times tonight and the UMC-1 was always able to reacquire the audio. It would take a couple of seconds for the sound to come back on and there was a weird rythmic clicking, but at least the audio came back.
Also, before the update, when playing music files from my PS 3, the UMC would experience the same audio loss. But tonight I was able to pause, skip and everything else and it never lost the audio.
I will reserve judgement until I've had more time to really check things out, but so far this FW seems like an improvement.

I'm down in the San Diego area as well anxiously waiting for my opportunity to head back home to update my own UMC. While i'm supposed to be doing work, i can't but help keep my eye on the progress of the FW update .

Hi Folks, Please log all bugs to the Tracker tool so we can see what is going on from a more centralized perspective once you are sure that it is truly an issue.
thanks very much for your consideration.

Is anyone here planning on returning the unit after this last firmware update now that I assume the 30 day return clock started ticking again.

Time for me to happily eat some crow here while the update system sucks BIG TIME after I re applied the firmware using a Windows 7 PC I have had ZERO audio drop outs. I'm seriously considering it after cheer-leading the UMC-1 over and over that everything will shake out and be great. Then being told this (v6) should be the final revision because they believe all the kinks are out only to update mine and have many more HDMI audio issues with my TiVo than before the update making it practically unusable is not setting well with me at all. I'll call today and possibly make that decision.

Are you planning to return yours? Only if they can't fix it.
