I've noticed an issue when playing DTS-HD HR (High Res) discs. If I configure my BD player to bitstream (to allow the UMC-1 to decode), the center channel is very distorted. With my DTS-HD MA (Master) discs the center channel works fine. Does anyone have a blu ray disc with DTS-HD HR (High Res) audio they can try? I'm wondering if anyone else is having this problem.

How about listing some of the DTS-HD HR (High Res) discs that you've encountered this with, though I'll try and find any HR encoded blu-rays that I might have.

Had a similar problem with 2012 this weekend - I started another thread; only way I could get it fixed was to change to PCM audio on the Bluray player (DMP60).

WORKING TITLES that I tested on firmware V6. The Condemned (sorta... 7.1 HR doesn't work at all, only 5.1.. This is a know BD authoring error) The Devil's Rejects (6.1 HR) Employee of the Month (6.1 HR) House of 1000 Corpses (7.1 HR) Reservoir Dogs (6.1 HR) Saw II (6.1 HR) Saw III (6.1 HR) NOT WORKING that I tested on firmware V6. The Proposition (5.1 HR Rambo: First Blood (5.1 HR) The World's Fastest Indian (5.1 HR) The 5.1 audio above is nothing but pure distortion

I have both Rombo and TWFI and both those discs work fine. I bitstream out from a PS3 slim, the UMC-1 decodes in DTS HR just fine..............

I'm bitstreaming from a Samsung BD-P1590... I just tried both of these titles once more and guess what? They do not work for me.

And your sure the fw took correctly and wasnt corrupted?

I suppose it is possible, who knows...  I had to install the first part of the update twice due to me forgetting to close a couple running programs. Everything else installed with no hang ups during installation. Everything was done as stated in the PDF file. I'm not sure if I should fool around with installing this again due to others having no luck from what I have read (even in safe mode)... I also seem to be experiencing most all issues reported. The UMC-1 reports: W6.02.00.04 |

Just tried Rambo First Blood, no go for me either. Bitstreaming from LG BD 370.
I'm going to install the firmware one more time (3rd).
*Edit, Just wanted to add if I changed the output to MCHPCM (player decoding) I got audio just fine.

Reloaded the firmware, now I get distorted DTS HR.  Hopefully the NEXT firmware will clear this up also. |
