Bill - thanks again for all your help. Please IGNORE ^^^^^^ Moderators - where are you guys when you are needed? Hey, no problem, man. I'm glad you were able to use the site that I dare not speak its name to help out. I've started a troubleshooting list, there are only a couple things on it at this point, but the get-out-of-the-loop is one of them.

Hmmmmm! here we go again plugging our website. Did you hear the man say call into Emotiva for help and not Emonatics? Are you jealous if it had not been for Bill and his wonderful website a lot of us would have been in serious trouble.

I did manage to get everything downloaded one time with v6 but it would not work when I tested things out. Tech support said my computer probably corrupted the files with all the stopping and starting. I may try v6 tonight again At least I know I can reinstall v5 if I have to. Thanks. Matt Matt, while I hate to outright disagree with someone... ok, no, I don't, but I like to play nice here. There's no way starting and stopping the update corrupted the files on your computer. To check that, go to the Emonatics UMC-1 Firmware page and use the MD5 checksum utility against each of the .upg files and ensure that the checksums are right. As mentioned here, did you upgrade your USBXpress driver to the 3.2.2 version at the Emonatics site? If you've done both of these things, and it's still not working, let us know here. I might be able to have you dump some info from your computer that'll tell me what may or may not be causing your issue. I am happy to report that I have successfully upgraded to v6 FW and everything seems to be working great right now. I do have USBXpress 3.2.2 and I talked to Lonnie tonight who suggested that I put my computer into safe mode and try loading everything then. It seems to have worked and I appreciate Lonnie's advice as well as Bill and everyone else who helped. I did have to reboot my directv receiver in order to get the hdmi handshake to work and I finally got my Oppo 83 to communicate with the umc-1 so I could get a picture. There was a bit of handshaking issue with the hdmi as well but I got everything going. Thanks again. I need to get a laptop so I don't have to keep moving by desktop into the living room to do FW updates. Way to go Emotiva. The picture and sound are great. Matt
