I am having HDMI connection issues between my UMC-1 and my HTPC (Intel DH55TC motherboard and i3 530). After a fresh reboot, the setup works great and I am able to bitstream all audio formats to the UMC-1. The problem is with reestablishing the HDMI connections after one of the following breaks in the connection:
1) HTPC turns off video feed after a period of inactivity 2) Turn off HDTV, but leave HTPC running (with UMC-1 on or off)
I've been able to address problem (1) by simply setting the HTPC to never turn off the display. Obviously, this is not the preferred situation but it is ok for the moment. So far, I have been unable to come up with a solution to problem (2). Sometimes, I am able to reestablish the HDMI link simply my moving the mouse or typing on the keyboard. But, quite often I am required to "force" the connection by using the menu on the UMC-1 to go into Video Setup and momentarily change the resolution then switch back. Needless to say, this is not acceptable to my wife and young kids.
Is anyone else with an HTPC having issues reestablishing the HDMI connection? I need to figure out a solution or I am going to have to return my UMC-1.
Note - I have the problem with the current v6 firmware and also with the previous version. I never had the "original" firmware on my UMC-1

Well I did have the UMC-1 and I have a Denon now. Here is the way my laptop had to be done on both.
I have a laptop in a docking station if I removed it from the docking station I had to do the following
Turn on UMC-1 to the PC's input then turn on PC. The same has to be done on the Denon also.
If I do not remove the laptop and I never shut off the laptop then I can turn off the Denon and everything is fine.
Hope this helps you out.

It sounds like the Denon and the UMC-1 have the same problem for you - only way to reestablish the connection was to cycle off/on the PC. Is that correct? That works for me too, but that is not acceptable.

that is correct, but keep in mind I do not have to do anything unless I remove it from the docking station it stays working
