got my umv on friday and quickly hooked her up. so far no major issues and everything is working well. but.
a.) emoQ when setup and finished the values are insane. crazy high Cross overs and reverse phases and whack distances. i calibrated manually but would like to use emoQ. are others having these issues ?
b.) how do i confirm the FW i have, is there somewhere in the OSD that will tell me.?
impressed so far but hte emoQ thing is odd to me.

The 1st time I used EMO-Q on my v6 upgraded unit, the distances and crossovers were spot on! I had to run it again (don't ask why! ) and the distances were all off by 3 feet. Crossovers were good except 1 speaker was set to 250Hz. Another rerun gave the same results. I manually set it up! To confirm the version, on the remote, press Mute, Status then Volume Up.

Forget Emo-Q. Set up everything manually and you will be done in less time and sound reproduction will be more accurate. A graphic EQ is useless because it can't correct any room or speaker problems. A useful feature would be an automated parametric EQ for modal problems at low frequencies (<100Hz), e.g. something like the DSpeaker Anti-Mode 8033.

call emotiva. i'm going to do the same tomorrow. They need to know that these audio dropouts are a software/firmware bug.

carlp336...just curious...on this "bug", if you do nothing (that is, don't hit "mode" or change channel), does the UMC-1 acquire the audio signal again on its own or not (and if it does, how long does it take)?
Same question to marius...
Thanks,
Mark

I hooked up my UMC today with V6 preloaded. For the time being, I will be putting my NAD AVR back in the system until the audio dropouts are fixed. I watch TV using an HDTV tuner with HDMI output. Loss of audio signal to speakers when changing TV channels, or even just when a commercial comes on makes the unit unusable. I played a Blueray on my OPPO BD83 and picture and sound were good. I did not try pausing or fast forwarding though. I do have faith that Emo will find a solution eventually, so I will not be asking for a refund. When it works the sound and video are good. If the bugs are resolved, it is an incredible value! I do love the OSD while the source is playing. I will call Emo support and let them know how mine is performing.

how long is "some time"...
Also, was the loss at a transition (such as a switch to commercial) to during ongoing/stable play?
Thanks,
Mark

for me the loss is always at a transition. Either going from DD2.0 to DD5.1 and visa versa, or switching channels, pause/resume, etc. Once the audio anomaly happens the only way to fix it seems to be another transition. Keeping things at PLIIx mode helps a bit but the IIx mode is messed up in this release.

Thanks, Mark about 3-5minutes from HD sneak peek of "predators" a cinemax production per-say then to the intro of tropic thunder i noticed the channel dropout out. secondly i had the neo6 outburst today as well luckily no damage..

Good to know I don't have to keep trying different ways to keep from 'corrupting' the install image.
I'll just wait for news from on high.....and maybe have another martini

I really don't think it's the fw installer/install mine was preloaded and I'm having the same issues, I'm not touching any of fw until they rerelease another fw there obviously still some fw issues present.
