Well, the more I've been reading about the Ultra-12's the more I'm doubting waiting for the Epik Empire I'm waiting for. Just wondering your all thoughts on which would give more bang for the buck. A single Epik Empire or dual Ultra-12's. With free shipping for the Ultras the price is very close to the single Empire w/shipping.

My initial thought is that room placement is going to be a large factor here. Since you would be getting 2 Ultra 12's you would have the ability to locate them in different spots. This will give you certain advantages. The Epik with a larger woofer size, I would think would give you more output, but can only be placed in one location even though it has 2 drivers.
How do you plan on setting up the subs? This may give a bit more insight and more specific responses to your question.

Well the cone space favors the Epik obviously, which isnt a bad sounding subwoofer at all, and it will give you tons of output for HT, but it is a tad pesky to dial in well. I have no experience with the new Emo subs. But I think the Epik is gonna give you a bit more bang for the buck...............WHat is it? $799 plus shipping? $900 for what is essentially dual 15" drivers and a pretty good 600 watt plate amp built in..........I'd lean towards the Epik here............especially if this is for HT for the majority of its use.

Hopefully not to stray too far from the OP's thoughts, but ntrain, could you expand on "a tad pesky to dial in well."? I have 2 on order and have been thinking about how to integrate them into my setup. I would sure love to hear your thoughts since you have dealt with them.

For me, it wasn't a huge deal, but just finding the right spot for it was a little tricky. After some trial and error I found the right rear part of our HT room to be the best place for it. I just picked up a PB-13 Ultra a few days ago, and the combo is FANTASTIC! ;D
I'm sure you'll find the dual Empires to be very very nice! ;D

The opposing drivers increased the amount of cancellation spots in room, so getting it placed and angled correctly to minimize these spots was a bit time consuming. Thats basically it in a nutshell.
