My amp has a 5v trigger and the UMC-1 is up to 12v is it save to use the trigger or not? Dave

you should probably be asking the amp manufacturer this not anyone else... but at least give us the brand/model...I assume you did some research on the web re its specs - your amp that is

It is a Perreaux 6160 six channel power amp and I will checwith then. Dave

as the current is low maybe make up a small 5vdc regulator (7805) to clip the voltage down to 5vdc from whatever the UMC-1 is pushing out (12vdc) this device (7805) has 3 pins.. one is 0V (center) the other 2 are in (Xvdc) and out (5vdc) and should be available at many electrinics shops or online at the likes of mouser/farnell/digikey etc Or this site too www.tkk.fi/Misc/Electronics/circuits/psu_5v.html
