I received my 3 upa1 today and wanted to give a short first impression of them , i use a marantz sr6003, klipsch rf 82/rc64/rs42
I must say that even though i expected somthing special they have taken me by surprise, the sound is warm, open, large, and every instrument or vocal gets pinpointed to a millimeter presicion.
they are a 100% match with my dear , dear klispch speakers and i am thrilled with joy
thank you emotiva

I've had mine about a week now between a Marantz SR5003 and Emo speakers. I was impressed right out of the box. I'm not sure if its the amps breaking in, or just that I've had time to listen to more material, but I'm enjoying these amps even more every time I turn on the system.

so far so good, and getting even better, the suckers shorely can play some music:) so far i have listened to some of my favorites, such as nirvana, morphine, soundgarden, nick cave, bruce springsteen, the clash and infected mushroom at low volumes i can more clearly hear the hole specter from low bass all the way up, the music is far more detailed, without being hard, the back round is as far as i can hear noiseless and very black. the music is presented in layers. at high volumes it just gets higher without getting unpleasant, sounds like the upa 1 has good control on the speakers. on movies i don't have any news yet, because my velodyne is sold and i have a svs pb12nsd on the way. the one observation i can deliver is that i can now more clearly hear the difference between rf 82 and the center rc 64 in the mid area and up, so maybe i will trade my rf82 against rf63 in a while this got to be a long post but i have plenty more to come with later:) have a really nice weekend in emoland

Now i have had the chance to listen some more on the upa 1 ,and they dont let me down:) both on music and movies i get a level of detail that i havent had for some time in my set up sometimes before i have had equipment that have sounded on the bright side , because of the level of details in the mid and upper tones, but the upa 1 just delivers detail, and yet it keeps on the dark side as i like it, they are dead quite too, and in themovies and games i get soo mutch more headroom and and everything is clear:) i did a heavy music session when they really got too work, i played mutch louder than i ussually do and after about an hour they somewhat warm, but my ears had given up long before that anyways:) on movies they dont get warm at all . so now i am just waiting for some money so i can buy a new processor:)

cheers:)
i have now had the upa 1 for some weeks and things have fallen even more in place, these babies really deliveres the goods, totally gotten me, i havent heard this mutch music for quite some time and movies too, i cant really tell you how pleased i am about these amps in english because i dont know enough superlatives
in the norwegian av forum there has been a thread raising the question if emotiva is all about hype created on the web mostly, but i am proud too say that many of the emotiva friends in norway has responded quite effectively too this thread with own experience of the products, if this is a hype i have lost my abbility to hear the difference between quality sound and bad sound, and if thats the case, i coulndt have been happier anyways
emo rocks in my world:)
btw i have preordered the new marantz sr7005 receiver and i would appreciate any links or news about this amp

Hi,
How do the UPA-1's compare to your Marantz AVR internal amps?
Do they produce a wider deeper sound stage?
Marginal/Subtle differences or dramatic?
thx

You actually registered JUST to leave this "feedback"? Warning, wear ear protection, loud grinding of axes may cause hearing damage. Note: UPA-1's have not been associated with hearing damage at moderate volumes.

Different strokes for different folks. When I first joined there was a lot of talk about this or that AVR sounding better than (and working better than) the UMC-1. In November I went out and looked at these AVRs and they sounded no better than my old Sony ES AVR. IMHO they totally sucked compared to the amp package I have in SQ. I haven't even begun to max out any of the channels of my amps because I don't need to hear what hearing damage sounds like.

I own 2 x UPA-1s and a USP-1. In my setup they sound powerful and detailed with a slight leaning towards warmth. I might change other parts of my system but the UPA-1s are keepers.

I am using my HarmanKardon 3490 stereo as a pre amp.Now it has 120 watts into 8 ohms. And it is one of the better two channel stereos out there. And driving my Polk Monitor70's it did a good job of it.But i wanted the Full potential of my Monitors..The UPA-1's did just that. The first thing i notice was better control over the drivers. The low end,low bass more define with punch, and it rolled off (drum roll) with no flutter.mids to upper mids and highs are very detailed very clear with a sound stage that is not all over the room.HarmanKardons are known for being Lil on the warm side.So pairing two UPA-1 mono blocks too me is a match made in heaven. I just don't get why "some people are saying" Emotive amps.."you get what you pay for"..brigth?..harsh?.he is kidding right?.

Yeah, pterpm is right, you get what you pay for!Two good amps for under a $1,000.These 200w x 2 Mono blocks put my Yamaha RXV 2600 to shame!I now have more detail, dynamics, bottom end and top end.I have been listing to music just about all my life and recording music since 1988.I know when I hear something good.Oh well to each his own.

hi, guys first of all, i'm not born in american, i not go to school here in US, and please, excuse my limited of grammar but i tried hard to write and share my opinion here. And yes, i'm just a newbie here and only one post and already point it out the negative of your fan here Don't you know i'm a fan of Emotiva too, i'm owned the XPA-5 for 3 years now and use it for my movies system and i pair with HK( i'm a big fan of HK so far) 3600 for processor and my speakers are AAD vi 630 (front) M-10S(sub) and TECHNICS SBA55 for surround sound and i'm really happy for XPA-5 and i have cdp ecr-1 pair with my marantz pm 7000 with FOCAL 836V and all of speakers cable i had are monster z series i also have my HK 3490 that i pair with my FOCAL 706v with sony 300cd run with kimber kable 8TC and my power cable are Pangea Audio - AC-9 - Power Cable i tried every thing to find a home for my FOCAL 836 V but so hard to do it, i even bought a Cambridge azur 840 s version 2 that cost me $ 1600.00 for the amp but i have to resale and that cost me a little bit too because my focal are bright and very detail one thing i forgot that above person said use HK 3490 as pre-amp, that i did not do it, i should try it first before i return it but i just so disappointed when i hook them up and heard so many positive about usp-1 That just my thought about emotiva gear, just like most of peoples , i try to find a big bang for a buck but sometime just not work that way
