So I am using the beta software and noticed when watching a couple Blu Rays that DTS Master is being read "Multi PCM." Never noticed that before. Anyone else notice that?

I watched two DVDs today and noticed that as well. Was expecting to see Dolby D but showed as Multi PCM. Sounded alright though. (Oppo BDP-83 with HDMI)

So far none of my DTS-HD MA blu-rays have shown up on display as Multi Channel PCM. Maybe you are sending "pcm" instead of a "bitstream" from your blu-ray player. Would that cause this to happen? I think I'll give it try right now.

It seems from my experience that if you send a receiver or pre/pro PCM, then it will display multi pcm. Send it bitstream from the player, and it should display DTS HD MA, Dolby TrueHD etc.

I've tested further. DTS-HD MA is decoding as such(no problem with this), but now that I'm using an LPCM 5.1 track from "Underworld", I'm only receiving 2.0 PCM from the UMC-1 in "Direct" mode, whether I use "bitstream" or "pcm" settings in the blu-ray player. Only way to receive a center and rear surrounds is through DPLIIx or to choose the DD5.1 track from the disc. Apparently LPCM tracks have reverted back to the way V5 processed them.

Ah...thanks for the advice. It was my BluRay player settings. I changed my "BD Audio Setting" from "Mix" to "Direct." Apparently, "Mix" outputs the primary audio mixed with the interactive and secondary audio, where "Direct" send the primary only. Anyway, now I'm getting DTS-Master to my UMC-1.
