I've edited my thread with the answer I got after asking Emo if the trial was going to be extended for the next firmware update. Here's a copy and paste of the answer I received from Emo customer support: We are extending the 30 day trial period until we feel like there is a firm code available. We will let you know via email when your 30 day return period begins.

I know I could call Emo but I figured it would be more efficient to just ask here so somebody else can answer and others can read. Has Emo said if they're extending the trial for the UMC-1 to 30 days after the next software update? The reason I ask is I think the 30 day period from v6 will be up in 10-14 days and currently my UMC-1 is not working anywhere near the way it should. I'd like to give the next update a chance but I don't feel like I can risk being unhappy with the unit and being stuck with it. Granted given the way Emo works I doubt they'd tell me I'm stuck with it even if they didn't officially extend the trial. But knowing the assurance is there would go a long way. have you installed the beta firmware? i found that it solved 90% of my umc "problems. I'm really looking forward to today's release of the V6 Beta2 firmware.
