It just seems weird that no one post anything about the USP1 preamp. I would have guessed that either bought and pre buy users would post their experience here. Is emotiva selling these?

The posts are there, but for some reason the search engine does not find them. If you search via google you will start to find them. But they are there...I know because I have posted many times in response to folks asking about them. I LOVE mine (a common theme among those of us with it).
I suspect the reason you are not seeing much right now (in the first page or three of the lounge's pre/pro threads) is that the heavy traffic is on the UMC-1 as it gets debugged, and with most recent posts showing first - that's what's being shown. I found various threads of the USP on pages 5, 7, 10, and 17 of the pre/pro section...I am sure there are many more.
Do you have any questions on the USP-1?

Many of us have USP-1s (love mine!)... there were a lot of threads a while ago (when it came out). The UMC-1 is new so it's dominating the stage right now.

Cool, hopes that more user will post their expirience with the USP1. One thing i lke about the USP is the adjsutable crossover for the front and sub, which not many preamp offer this. Anyhow, is it possible to connect a Ipod or mp3 player to the USP?
thanks

I have not hooked up an ipod/mp3 player, but it looks possible...see the link below. Basically, anything that you have that has analog outputs (or has accesory wires that allow that) can be used as a source to a USP-1. mobile-audio-devices.suite101.com/article.cfm/how_to_play_an_ipod_on_a_home_audio_systemFYI, 4 things that a lot of us like about the USP-1 are: 1) super clarity/low noise...it's billed as "analog bliss" and I fully support that statement. 2) the "home theater bypass" which allows great integration into a home theater 3) a GREAT phono section 4) an unbelievable price... The USP-1 was a very active thread right after it was introduced. The primary thread had something like 30+ pages in its thread. A great deal of information is contained in it. I believe that particular thread originated about a year ago, May/June time frame. I did a quick search on one of my posts about a phone conversation I had with Lonnie about the merits of the USP-1 vs other Emotiva preamps. I didn't find the thread I was looking for, but I did find several quotes from that thread. See link. emotivalounge.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=preamps&thread=7279&page=1#106733I hope this helps you at least find a way to go back and find more information. Plus there is a review section that has many owner's feedback on using their USP-1s. Have fun.

Mark +1. Fully agree. In my situation, I own an OPPO BDP-83 and had it upgraded to the "SE". I added the USP-1 to my system because of that. The USP allowed me to maintain a pure analog path, therefore not losing any of the benefits of the SE upgrade (such as the superior performance of the Sabre DAC) and still maintain the use of my subwoofer. My Outlaw Model 990 would have needed to "re-digitize" the signal to do that. I've since routed all 2 channel analog to the USP. My 990 (which will be replaced by a UMC-1 this Tuesday) has served merely as a HT throughput for the 7.1 multichannel outs of the BDP-83. The 990 cannot touch the USP-1 in sonic performance from analog sources. I cannot speak for the phono stage, but the headphone preamp is outstanding. Just my $.02 ......, but I'm TOTALLY happy with mine. ;D ;D ;D
