Help! HT room calibration for dummies using REW

Hi,

Can someone please explain in simple terms how to use REW (or any other third party software) and what tools I would need?

I assume a radioshack db meter and some type of microphone.

This would be very helpful to me. I am sure others would find this helpful too.

Thanks Markus for this link and your work on the forum. I have most of the gear already and just need to pick up the measurement mic - ECM8000. I am determined to get to the bottom of the UMC-1 sound issues and try to help Lonnie and company get this product right!

Actually I have lot of recording equipment and mixers already. I do some (pure amateur) home studio recording. I've got plenty of gear!
