Who knows? I gave up waiting for an answer on this and now look forward to getting my UMC-1. It should arrive today.

I gave up too. I actually sold the Anthem AVM-50 I had gotten a few months ago to a neighbor (he made me an offer I couldn't refuse!  and am running my MMC-1 with an Oppo BDP-83 special edition via the 7.1 analog inputs. Sounds awesome, and everything is bullet-proof from a usability standpoint. I figure that once the XMC-1 eventually comes out, I'm sure it'll be an awesome processor, plus that 40% off I just can't ignore, even if I don't REALLY need it. But, not until it's gone through multiple "beta tester" rounds. I learned my lesson with the UMC-1. I'm on the very first XMC-1 preorder list, so hopefully I'll be early-on to get a chance to buy one, we'll see if I can resist picking it up and rolling the dice that it'll work...  |
