I have 3 HD TV's in my basement that is 44' X 22'. One is the main theater 65", one is behind the bar 32" and one on my desk 19". I bought this splitter and I am running all three with the same HD cable box. I'm using a 50' HDMI cord ($19.95 on Amazon), 25' HDMI cord ($9.95 Amazon) and a 6' HDMI cord I already had. Works great and eliminates two cable boxes and $16.00 a month in rentals fees from Comcast. Highly recommended!! www.amazon.com/ViewHD-Powered-Splitter-Certified-Latest/dp/B00263D7A4/ref=pd_sim_e_9

Awesome thanks for the recommendation. I have been looking for a reliable one. By chance are you able to run 2 monitors or screens at the same time using this device? I have a 22 inch monitor on the AV rack that I would like to be able to run at the same time as the projector or possibly the TV. I know with most splitters the HDCP doesn't allow them both to run.

Just make sure you power everything down for the initial handshake connections. Thats what I was told and everything has worked fine since June.

So this would work if you wanted to take advantage of the video processing in a blu-ray player (Oppo BDP-83) straight to the TV while sending just the audio from the Oppo to say a UMC-1?

I should get it in about a week. As long as I can run my rack monitor along with the projector or tv then I will be thrilled! I have searched high and low for one that works this way. Most of the time you have to power down both the source and monitor to switch from one monitor to the other (and even then only one will work at a time). So thanks again!

I've not tried that. I just have the output from the HD box into it's input and then 3 HDMI cables to 3 different TV's. It should work though.....

Strindl there are only hdmi input and outs on the splitter. But if you can select your audio output on your source device and switch it to toslink audio instead of hdmi audio then I think it should work. I actually received the device yesterday (even though amazon said expected delivery was this coming wednesday) almost a week early. I hooked it up and it seems to work great! I used my harmony one remote to power on all devices and the projector and monitor came on and both had a flawless picture. I had to watch a full movie of course watching for sparklies or problems and didn't find any on either screen. I then powered everying off and started just the rack equipment and monitor like my wife would use for pandora and the av monitor worked fine too even with the projector off. So this device functions just the way I want it to. Thanks again for the heads up! I have been waiting for over a year for an actual functioning splitter! Now I can erase all my internet bookmarks of other splitter type devices and tutorials on how to take a 4 input 1 output device and modify it into a multiple output instead.

On the same note, I can recommend HDMI splitters and switches from Gefen.com

It is pointless to spend even one penny more....

Kinda sucks if you want to switch the channel on one monitor while possibly another is also on, tuned to a different channel.
