Has anyone here replaced there Rotel RSP1098 for the emotiva UMC-1? On the fence about it? I had a 1066 and now a RSP-1570 and I tried the UMC-1 in the rack for a few days and removed it due to the bugs (losing signal lock on HDMI, power down failures). It had good sound when it was working, as good as the RSP-1066 not as good as the 1570 on HT or 2 channel. I am now playing with it in place of one of my RSX-1560s with the UPA-7. It (UMC-1) has the same bugs as before compared to the Rotel (strange as the Rotel is actually the same/newer release generation). The sound still is not quite as crisp in HT or 2 channel, but I paid $1400 CDN for the Rotel and just under $1000 in Cdn for the UMC ($1900 with the UPA-7 so significantly higher in price). Am I getting 5/7ths the quality out of the UMC as compared to the Rotel 15 Series, that is a definitive YES, BUT that doesn't include the price of the UPA-7 (though the Rotel {OOPS} has only 4 x HDMI inputs). The problem is the lock on HDMI (no issues with the 15 series Rotel) and the power off lockup. The UMC-1 is too frustrating for a production system at the moment due to the bugs. Hopefully Emo fixes it or it will be gone from my rack, but I still believe most of the issues I have experienced will be fixed. The Rotel wins when looking at pure stereo/music. They would be equal in HT mode IF the UMC-1 gets the bugs mentioned above fixed.

Visiter555 your second paragraph makes no sense.
I have a Rotel 1570 and I want to know if the UMC is better or worse than the 1570?

Visiter555 your second paragraph makes no sense. I have a Rotel 1570 and I want to know if the UMC is better or worse than the 1570? Try going back and reading my first paragraph... I discussed my experience with the UMC-1 in the rack that normally has the RSP-1570. In para 2, I continued the experience of comparing the UMC-1 with other Rotel 15 Series products which are all built on the same chipset and components with either a 5 channel Class A/B amp or a 7 channel Class D amp. So, in other words reread my post where I answered you initial question on the RSP-1570 and then other 15 series products and then added a comparison based on the prices, RSP-1570 vs UMC-1, RSX-1560 vs UMC-1 with a UPA-7 and the RSX-1550 vs the UMC-1 with a UPA-7.
