As Emotiva does not provide Power Cables for continental Europe, here's a link to a Polish guy's web-shop who makes them. I haven't ordered yet but I will post back whenever I get some of his cables. His specialty is a self developed tube-DAC: way cool! The Power Cables are 1,5 m costing 90€ (4 for the price of 3) each but he will make any length you want. ouch, that's a heck of a lot more than the emo cables. True, but prices ar fair: these are handmade in Poland and you can have any length you want. And I bought three, so I get one extra for free: so 3 * 90 = 270 and 270 / 4 is €67.50 each I'm not stopping Emotiva if they want to provide EU Power Cables! And by the time the hypothetical $70 Emotiva EU Power Cable is in my hands, they'd cost €75 each (with Duties and VAT), but only if I'd order them with amps or so. Otherwise, shipping fee's apply. See? Always do the math!

I just want to add that I got the four handmade cables from Lampizator in Poland. They are very well made, thick, nicely terminated and properly shielded. I have put them to work with the new DAC2. The DAC2 is connected to my XPA-1's with Emotiva XLR (which are also very good value and perfectly made). Sources for the moment are the ERC-1 (coaxial digital) and the Airport Express (Wifi from iMac) (optical). I no longer hear the low level hum hat bugged me before with the cheapo inKel preamp and even more cheapo interconnects.

Not saying your power cables don't make you happy, but perfectly adequate ready-made power cables can be found in the shops from about $5....

Not saying your power cables don't make you happy, but perfectly adequate ready-made power cables can be found in the shops from about $5.... Your northern skepticism is unnecessary in this case! The Lampizator Power Cables replaced such cables as you described. Before this, there was a low level hum present. I am not sure these were to blame since I also swapped the cheapo preamp with a Weiss DAC2 and RCA interconnects with Emotiva XLR. I do not believe in extremely expensive cables, but this does not mean that the cheapest is good enough. The Polish cables are in the same price bracket as Emotiva US Power Cables if I imported them in EU. And Polish labor costs more than Chinese... Here's a link with pictures. They are nice and thick and also shielded lampizator.eu/szop/szopproducts/cables/cables-price.html

Yes, I agree that they look nice and seem to offer a good value relative to other similar products. I just haven't noticed any differences between power cables myself. I accept, however, that other people likely can have poorer mains quality, better rooms, better gear or better ears than me, making such a cable change audible to them...

I am not claiming my system sounds better because of the Power Cables. I was saying that IMO, the previous cables I used were rubbish and could have been the cause of the hum that was present but is now gone. I think a 1,000 Watt amp deserves a thicker power cable than a blender. Also want to plant the set-up before a glass wall in our new house, in open rack, so the cables better look good too... No need for plasticky looks, I don't plan to spray water on them.

Hi Erwin.BE, The "lampizator" adress doesn't tell anything about ordering. Please let me know. I live now in South Africa, but I come from the Netherlands. I have a ClearerAudio Copperline Alpha 8 socket power hub ("schuko" sockets). I can use good European cables. Are you still happy with your cables? Kind regards, Hendrik Jan

Kind regards, Hendrik Jan Hoy Hendrik Jan, You just have to send him an e-mail and he will confirm the order and give you his bank numbers. I just wired the money. He has been totally reliable with the delivery. You might try to ship them to Holland if you have relatives there to avoid duties. I only have the Power Cables for 5 days and as I said, they are thick and nicely finished so what more do you want? South Africa, huh? There's a hit in Afrikaans on Studio Brussel over here from Jack Parow: COOLER AS EKKE Jy dink jy’s cooler as ekke, want jy rook Yves Saint Laurent sigarette Jy dink jy’s cooler as ekke, want jy’t ‘n tattoo van ‘n slang op jou tette. Jy dink jy’s cooler as ek, want jy’t ‘n plakkaat van Led Zeppelin bo jou bed Jy dink jy’s cooler as ek, want jy’s elke jaar by die J&B Met. Totally cool!! I can't translate because there might be US minors watching...

Hi Erwin, I found all I wanted to know on the lampizator.eu website. The cables look very nice. Very, very interesting Dac he is making. That man is obsessed. I don't have a problem with that. I found the Jack Sparrow website, so we had some fun with his songs. My wife knew his "afrikaans" song, it was nice for her to hear it again. Ik denk dat we ook de Vlaamse/Nederlandse taal kunnen gebruiken. Liever niet denk ik. Not very polite to use a foreign language on this US forum. Kind regards, Hendrik Jan
