================================================================ KEY #1: MUTE KEY #2: STATUS KEY #3: VOL + (Volume Up)
Press these in quick succession.
THEN: Look at the UMC's Front Panel LED Display to see current FW version loaded on your unit. =================================================================

What should be the front panel display of the latest firmware? I am having an issue with input assignments being lost and need to know if a dowwnload is in order. Thanks.

It should start with 7. There seem to be a couple of versions about, one ending in 4 and one maybe with 14 depending on if your UMC-1 came loaded from the factory recently.
So if it starts with 7 you at least have the latest downloadable beta 3 (aka 7b1)

Is this the latest publicly-available version, or is this the "final" release? I couldn't remember what my previous load version was. It did still error out on the EmoQ setup with the "quiet room" test at the beginning, so I'm thinking it is not the final rev.

A buddy of mine just ordered the UMC-1 and a XPA5. They will be here on this Friday, what version will it arrive with and should we update it with whatever is the latest? Do they ship with the latest releases or will we need to even update it?

Interesting, I just checked mine and it is V7.01.00.02 - which seems (apart from the 00) to match the version linked to on the product page for the 2010 06 08 Beta 3 update.
Does anyone know what the deltas between this and 00.14 are?

Emotiva are probably the only folks that know.

Does anyone know what the deltas between this and 00.14 are? This is the same version I have loaded...purchased last week of June. I am patiently waiting for the next release to see if my small but frustrating issue is corrected.

I suspect the 00.14 version people are reporting is the 6.2.0.14 version issued on 04/29/2010 - AKA V6R2

I just got my unit yesterday and it's the 6.02.00.14 So you have the choice of updating to V7 or waiting for the next version - and your guess is as good as anyone's on when that will arrive. The update process has been painless for me (except for having to re-enter all the settings). It really depends on whether the 6.2.0.14 version bugs annoy you enough to try the V7.

This was immediately after Lonnie's offer to install the firmware (supposedly the final that we're all waiting for) for anyone willing to send their unit in. Mine was already there. My firmware version is W7.01.00.14. notice the " W". Now, what is this? it's not b2 or b3.

I don't believe the "W" is significant. As mine is W7.01.00.02

KEY #1: MUTE KEY #2: STATUS KEY #3: VOL + (Volume Up) With the milled aluminum remote, this sequence does not work on my UMC-1. Works with the little plastic remote. The Vol + key press on the aluminum remote is the culprit because the sequence will also work if I use the aluminum remote for the first two key presses (mute and status) and then the plastic one for the Vol+. Weird. Once I have updated the firmware, I'll try that again.

You should definitely update your firmware to 7.xx.xx.14 ... it may help.

You can bring the UMC-1 to your computer or bring your computer to the UMC-1, I prefer bringing a laptop to the UMC-1 as it saves pulling out all the cables. If you are in "audio Nirvana" at the moment I would leave well alone - or at least wait for 7.2FW to be released as it has more DV options available which might be of use.
