Hi. Everyone; My comments that follow are after a burn-in of around 80 hrs. Just so you know, I also installed my RCA caps on unused outputs and XLR caps. I also installed an after market fuse and used my after market power cord. The CDP sits on 2in. brass footers and a maple platform. I rounded up the usual suspects; James Taylor, Gordon Lightfoot, Steve Miller, Mark Knopfler, Bob James, Joe Sample, and 2 Mapleshade recordings. I listened to my fav. cuts and then switched back to my Cambridge 640 C V2 to compare. I much prefered the ERC 1. The ERC 1 in my system, my room, was vibrantly warm and detailed without fatigue and a wide and big soundstage esp. with HDCD.
I am not a reviewer nor do I recomend things. I do, howerever, suggest that you try this CDP in your system. Only you can say if it's a good fit. I also have no ties with this company. Some of you will read this and think I am in need of 2 cups of All Bran cereal. And that's OK with me.
