Here are the specs for the size of the gramma - 23" long x 15" wide x 2.75" high
What are the measurements of your sub?

Hello, its 25"x18". I know my sub is a little bigger, but will it work?

It would still work since it holds up to 300 pounds. They do make the great Gramma that is a bit larger if your interested.

Hello, its 25"x18". I know my sub is a little bigger, but will it work? I have several of the grammas. As long as the feet on your sub are spaced so that they will fit on the platform, it will support your weight (well, not YOUR weight but the weight of the sub although it probably weighs more than you do) and will effectively decouple the sub from the floor. It is very sturdy.

It is so easy to build one yourself. I should know, cause that's what I did. I had the 2 x 4s and the MDF laying around. Had to buy glue and carpet. Carpet was around $40, but I have enough left to make another 4 platforms. The foam between the 2 x 4s came from leftover packing crates. Total cost for one platform was about $15. Took less than an hour to build.

Wow! Those are nice and very impressive Animo. Ok, now stupid question time...would using a Gramma on the main (left and right) tower speakers be a good idea? Would it help? Is it worth it? Not trying to threadjack here but since we are the topic... ;D

Not trying to threadjack here but since we are the topic... ;D Some people have raised their main speakers to decouple them from the floor. It depends what's under the speaker....wood, cement, carpet, etc.... The only way to know if it works for you is to try it. Buy one, and switch back and forth from left to right. If it sounds better, get another. If not, return or sell the Gramma.

Thanks for the advice Animo, I figured it was probably a "try it and see" type of situation but I was just (kind of) curious. ;D

These are semi old pics

WOW, pitbullmike!!! I think I popped something just LOOKING at your setup! Very impressive sir! Is there a reason that placing sub-woofers on the GRAMMA makes such a difference? Also, could you sit the subs on top of, say a coffee table, or something to achieve a similar effect? (stupid question I know) Or is it the materials used in the platform that makes all the difference, rather than just getting the subs off the floor? I am not too well versed in sub-woofer setup (as you all know) and am always looking for ways to squeeze more enjoyment from my gear.

Simply raising a sub off the floor, does not always have a positive effect. That is the reason for the foam between the platform and the floor with mine. Here's a very good thread for you to check out just about everything you need to know about subwoofer risers (platforms). forum.blu-ray.com/subwoofers/103410-diy-subwoofer-risers.html
