Just got my USP-1. Well, I have been having fun with the UPA=1's and was waiting to see how the preamp works with those speakers.
All I can say is wow. It's a full rich sound that sucks you in. Voices carry so much emotion now, its not an exageration that I will be rediscovering my music collection.
Im a very very happy audiophile. ;D

Congrats on the USP-1! What made you get it and not wait for the XSP-1? I'm dealing with that now myself.
Best Regards, Stan

After the USP-1, the XSP-1 can be next. After all many of us have more than one room where we can enjoy our music! ;D The combination of build quality, performance and price makes Emotiva a best choice for me.

I imagine the XSP-1 would have made sense for me if I had the XPA-1 monoblocks. At the end of the day, I am quite happy. Just listened to Radiohead "The Bends" and it has never sounded better.

The biggest difference between the USP and the XSP is in features and the XLR connectors on the XSP... not in sound quality. Good point. I wish that Emotiva would come-out and say what the feature set of the XSP will be. I have heard (on this board) all sorts of things. Some of which says that the sound quality will be much better. Thanks, Stan

I thought one of the differences was that the XSP would be able to do HT bypass with the speakers set to full range.

navman...good call on the USP-1. It is a very fine preamp. I rediscovered a lot of music after I got it.
