I read with disappointment that AV123 officially closed its doors yesterday. A sad end to what was once a very promising company with some truly exceptional products and ideas. In particular, I feel very badly for AV123's customers. Many of them are our customers too, and it pains me to see them left hanging without ongoing support.
We all know the actions that brought their company to this end, so I'm not going to re-hash them here. I just want to make one thing very clear to all of you; Mark Schifter and AV123 have never had any ownership interest in Emotiva in any form. AV123 acted as our original distributor, and that's it. Period. I know that some people have tried to connect us beyond this fact, but it is simply not true. We are not cut from the same cloth.
In October of 2006 I severed our professional and personal relationship with AV123 and Mark Schifter for reasons you might imagine. At that time the decision was made to bring all aspects of our distribution and marketing in house. Enough said.
If you are an AV123 client, please know that you are welcome here. We will assist you if we can. When a company fails in this manner it hurts us all, and I take no pleasure from this news.
Emotiva will continue maintain the highest ethical standards of operation. You, my company, and my family have my word on this.
