I have products that all have digital outputs (BD-player, pc, TV). In a mail from Lonnie he told me that the soundquality of the XDA-1 is in another league than the USP-1.
I do not have a preamp today, and plan to buy a XPA-2 in this setup.
Is there any reasons to not choose XDA-1 over the USP-1 ?
Thaks for answers

USP-1 is for analog, XDA-1 is for digital. No reason to go for the USP-1 in your application unless you plan to utilize a phonograph.

You can always add a pre-amp later if you must.

You forgot to mention that the USP-1 also gives you a 2.1 output option... if your into that kinda thing

Thanks for input guys! This will only be used in a 2-channel setup with B&W 683. I think the XPA-2 will provide enough bass for my liking =)
If I later want to kombine with a HT-receiver, cant I just connect from pre-out on receiver to RCA-input on XPA-2 ? (Im gonna use XLR with the XDA-1)
Of course I have to use the input-switch on the back of the XPA-2..

I'm planning on getting some Emotiva gear and I'm also looking at this XDA-1. I want to connect a mediastreamer to it to play music (mp3,flac,m4a) and movies (dvd,blu-ray,mkv).
I will have a setup of this mediastreamer and 2 Kef Q11 speakers. Would this XDA-1 combined with a XPA-2 be a well thought solution?
I prefer to have a warm open and detailed sound for music, which is most important next to a good steady sound to accompany my movies.
I'm a little affraid because of the lack of tone controlls with a XDA-1 and XPA-2 combination as I don't know if I can adjust the sound to my likings with my soon to get mediastreamer.
Also have thought about the coming XMC-1 but I don't know how it compares in digital-analog conversion to the XDA-1
