Yes as long as your amp is turned off otherwise you'll get bleed. The reply I got from support was that the original Usp's didn't mute at all the later ones muted better, if you wanted total muting turn off your amp (which I'd imagine would work with the original USP's also). I also have the volume issue and presumed it was a problem of gain. I can only listen to cd's with the volume set between 9 and 10 o'clock on the volume knob. I've tried changing the settings on my remote for finer adjustments to no avail so I just do it manually. With it set to turntable no such problem (normal listening around 11 to 12o'clock) and volume control works well (I haven't, but must also check to see whether it fully mutes on turntable) ps using oppo bdp83 for cd's and an old harksound turntable with mm cartridge The main problem, or I guess hassle, with the solution of turning off the amp is that if you are using a sub you have to turn that off as well, which means walking over to the sub and reaching in back of it to flip the switch. It's mainly an inconvenience but still, an inconvenience nonetheless. That's been solved for me since I use a Velodyne SMS-1 which can be easily turned off (but as lazy as I am, that isn't the reason I bought the SMS-1 ;D ). So the later versions still don't fully mute? I didn't realize that. Yes, they don't fully mute and Emotiva customer service told me there is nothing that can be done to make it fully mute. The customer service rep indicated that he thought the headphone volume would be so loud that the faint sound coming form the speakers would not be audible. Not true with open backed low sensitivity headphones. The fix is as you describe, power off the amp and subs. But I'm lazy also and would prefer not having to do this for headphone listening.

Although the volume on my Harmony One works just fine, the press and hold of the directional keypad did not. A call to Logitech and they fixed it for me after I was handed off to second level support guy. Works great now. George Was that a new Harmony remote? in other words, still under the 90 day free support deal? As I understand it, after that you have to pay for support. Hope I'm wrong.

Yes, it was a new remote I had just purchased in the last month or so to replace my 700. I do recall something about a 90 day free support period in one of the recordings I heard while waiting on the phone... I don't know how much support would be if outside the first 90 days. George

I'm not too sure about that; perhaps the support is done from secondary agents and not full technical staff people. But one thing is for sure though; you can still contact them even a year after and someone will assist you. ...And it won't cost you.

Did you ever get this resolved? I am considering a USP-1 but will skip this purchase if it will not work nicely with my Harmony.
Perhaps the XSP-1 will work differently with it?

That's odd. I'm fairly sure mine muted completely for the first 9 months or so I owned it, but recently I've been getting some bleed-through.

The mute on the USP is actually a -60db pad and doesn't completely mute the signal. So it sounds like it is running correctly.

Hi Lonnie, I actually sent my USP-1 in to have the headphone jack fixed as I could still hear sounds and Nick told me at the -60db. Is this going to be a standard headphone approach and this could be about the only thing you all do that I do not agree with. I think the Headphone should mute completely otherwise use the volume control for -60db. I do not have the luxury in my house to have a non-muted headphone. Any comments are appreciated.

Best bet is to give them a call and talk to Lonnie directly Was just checking the thread to see if sticknstones had received any comments from Lonnie, when I saw he hadn't I just had to use a saying with sound references (silence/deafening). I should have remembered the other saying "silence is golden" .
