Well, the upa-7 would be ok but the paradigms like lots of power, something like an XPA-2 would be more suited to the 100's than a upa-7. Also 2 upa-1's would work pretty well also.

I have Studio 100's and can say that they sound super with an XPA-2, even better than with an XPA-5. But, the XPA-5 was a big step up from the amps in my Denon 3806. I can't say what the 100's would sound like with a UPA-7, but I can't imagine it would be bad. It should be at least as good as what I had with my 3806 driving my 100's, and that was good...but you could do even better.

The XPA-2 with your Paradigm Studio 100's is a match made in heaven! Don't second guess that. * By the way, Welcome to the Lounge Kevin! Bob

You don't say what version your Studio 100s are. My Studio 60 v4s have the same sensitivity rating as the Studio 100 v4s and my UPA-5 drives them very well - either alone in stereo mode, or with my CC-690 v5 and ADP-370 v3s in HT mode.
The well-rated UPA-7 should have no trouble driving your speakers. From what I've read, the XPA-series amps - for a bit more money - will give you even better performance.

I used to have Studio 100s (Version 3). I went from a Marantz receiver, to an XPA-5, to an XPA-2, to my current RPA-2. I found that each change of amplification improved things. So maybe an XPA-2 or a pair of UPA-1s might be your best bet.

I have the V3 100s with a pair of UPA-1s and they sing. Plenty of volume, even for my room (20' x 20' x 16' ). I can't ever see the need for more power than these provide. I'll go deaf long before I reach the limit of the amp.

Any of the Emo amps will drive those speakers to VERY satisfactory levels. Unless you require ear-bleeding sound pressure levels, go with the least expensive amps and save your money for where it really counts - excellent source material...

thank you guys for your comments. still want to know is there anyone has both upa-7 and xpa 5 with studio 100. anyone can tell the difference of the headroom between these 2 (75 w difference)? I doubt you would hear any difference due to one amp having 75 watts more than the other. If memory serves, it takes a doubling of watts to increase the sound by only 2 decibels. But you may hear differences due to parts selection. I'll admit I am not well versed in the UPA-7, but I would assume that the XPA-5 would have nicer parts than than the Ultra line (other than maybe the UPA-1 and UPA-2). Mark.

Get the XPA-5 with your Paradigm 100s. ...I know those speakers very well, and the XPA-5 is the better match.
