Since my first hifi bought as a teenager, through a few years working at a high-end retailer, until now, I have only ever bought used gear. The ERC-1 replaces a Marantz cd-19, and plays through an Electrocompaniet ECI-1 to Martin Logan Scenarios.
The sound of the ECI-1 is excellent. Compared to the Marantz, its presentation is more forward, with a dryer but more extended bass. What really impresses me is the amount of detail that I cannot remember hearing before...
I like the clean drawerless loading. Some discs take a fair amount of time to load up, but this Player can play discs my previous player could not.
So the ERC-1 has deposed the Marantz. Well done Emotiva, keep up the Good Work.
