The sale lists the UPA-2 as having a before sale price of $399 and a sale price of $329 for a $70 savings. The price of the UPA-2 pre-sale was $349 for a savings of $20. Most of us know the pricing but I noticed it and felt it was worth mentioning.

I noticed that today as well. I was waiting for the sale to buy a UPA-2 but I guess a $20 savings wasn't worth waiting for.

Zetec,
Although I was hoping for at least 10% off on all products don't forget we save $25 for shipping as well. It's actually a $45 savings.

Yes and free shipping!!! mostly stuck between getting a UPA-2 for $329 or 2 x UPA-1s for $598. i think I was hoping for a UPA-2 for under $300. Oh well guess I need to decide. I need to get my two surrounds emo-powered versus running them on my AVR.

Can't say I'm impressed with this years holiday sale. Considering the fact they are going to increase the prices on their products, I'm not sure if I'll be buying anything. If the UPA-5 won't match the Spooky savings price, I will probably put my money on the bank.

You're upset that the company is increasing its prices based on supply costs and let you know about the raising prices beforehand. You're also upset because the current sale prices aren't as good as you wanted, and you're upset about some theoretical price for a piece of hardware that isn't even currently available because they sold out last month. So what, exactly, could Emotiva have done to make the sale prices more palatable to you? Free? ;D

There's not a hint of me being upset at all, unless "not impressed" means "upset" in your dictionary. I've got some cash lying here for an upgrade and I had hoped for something similar like last year. Sadly, it itsn't so which means that I have no intention of buying another piece of equipment for at least this year, which means I will wait till the next sale As I see it now, the UPA-5 will probably be decreased by 70 dollars, which is 50 euros in my case. That's nice, but for me it's not really worth it. I have to pay at least 150 dollars for shipping so, for me, the benefit is lost already.

And likely when you go to purchase at the next "sale" the price will be higher due to the increased costs. Pick your poison. Definitely are some decent deals

Surprised this hasn't been fixed yet. It would be very misleading if someone did not know the original pricing.

Definitely are some decent deals Very true, but these aren't deals that make me jump off the fence this very moment. Price increases or not, waiting a couple of months longer makes me wanna buy a larger and more expensive Amp(s). More time=more money.

Ah, you must not be married. My wife will find uses for the extra money in my "personal account" if I leave it unattended too long. This doesn't mean she comes home with a new purse, but a new couch wouldn't be out of the question. If I spend $100 to fix her pinball machine she won't say a word. If I buy $100 in cables there's hell to pay. LOL

When was the prices discussed about being raised? Did I miss something? Jan 1st 2011, officially according to the webcast. Although it seems the price for the UPA-2 has been raised already from 349 to 399.

I guess I am going to have to spring for 2 xpa-1's now. Its a pretty good deal they got going on when buying 2. The temptation will continue to grow and grow until you give in. Remember Star Trek and the Borg -- Resistance is Futile! Those XPA-1s are fantastic power amps. Audioholics.com and Secrets of Home Theater HiFi both gave the XPA-1 their highest level of recognition as the best Mono-block of the Year. At Emotiva's Year-end Sale price they are a huge bargain. Every one is going to be envious of you. ;D ;D ;D
