Also JD, 3D was mostly free for me. ...As it also is for many other people...

1. I purchased an HDTV for its 2D picture, nothing else.
2. It just happened that it was also a 3D HDTV.
3. I wanted an SACD player using the HDMI connection, and which was able to send pure DSD stream through that connection.
4. ...Because my pre/pro can accept that DSD audio stream as is, without converting it.
5. The Sony BDP-S570 I bought for $160 Canadian.
6. And it just happened that it was also a 3D Blu-ray player.
7. When I bought my HDTV, it came with two pairs of active shutter 3D glasses (Bluetooth transmission), and four Shrek Blu-ray 3D movies, for only an additional $50.

You pick up stuff first for the best picture and best sound.

That's what I did, and by doing so I ended up with 3D!

I tried it, in my own home confort, and I liked it. I said to myself; "cool!"

Is it a life-changing choice experience? Of course not.
Do I regret it? Nope.
Do I feel it is needed? No.
Is it going to get better? Yup.
Do we need to hate it or love it? Nope, just between, right in the middle is just fine.
