I just upgraded to swan r3 surrounds and they are 5 ohm per one site or 4 ohm on another. So anyways. My elite only rates to 6 ohms by changing a setting. Well, that setting will not change from 8 ohm to 6 for some reason. I have tried too many times to count. Will my elite be able to handle my swans since they are 4 or 5 ohm? Im thinking I may just get a upa2 to power them. Does that sound like a good idea? Or I might get an xpa-2 or 2 upa-1's and use my xpa-3 for center and surrounds. I just feel like I need to power these with an amp. These are some nice surround speakers. Looks and sound wise. I want them to sound to their most potential. Any ideas or suggestions are welcome. I am 90% HT and tv watching and only music i listen too is thru a usb flash card with mp3 so I probably dont need the upa1's or xpa-2. But would be nice seeing them setting in my rack Emo gives us so many options. In reality I doubt I could go wring with any of my ideas listed above. Just need persuaded one direction or another.

I never did find out much so I got a great deal on upa-2 to run them. Sucks about your xpa-3. I have had 7 amps from emotiva and never a problem except the xpa-1's would make a clicking sound once in a while but it was not bad. And was coming from the heat sinks.

good call on the upa-2. That is a great amp choice for running small speakers, especially low ohm types.

Yeah I agree. It paired up nicely with the speakers. I am very pleased.
