I have had the x-series power cables for 6 months and think they are a good build quality. One thing that I always wondered is, does anyone else who owns them notice how they are not a snug fit when plugging into the amps? The supplied power cables fit nice and snug. I never had a problem with them coming off but wonder why they are a sloppy fit.

I have to ask, what components are you using them with? as I've got two of these power cables and they are quite snug in my XPA-5 and UMC-1.

Both my XPA-3 and UPA-2. When you insert the cable end into the amp it has alot of wiggle so to speak. It's loose to where it won't pull out on it's own but takes very little effort when removing or inserting. After plugging in you can actually see the end drop down from the weight of the cord. Like I said I don't have any issues with it coming out but just curious as to why it doesn't fit more snug like the supplied cord. Maybe it's because the supplied cord has a rubber end instead of a hard plastic?

You could try wrapping the connector with a layer (or a couple) of electrical tape until it fits nice and snug.

I have had the same issue with power cables that I made on my own using plugs from Wattgate and Marinco. The IEC end which plugs into the component. Loose on my PS3 as well as my Sony DVP-S9000ES SACD player. Works ok until I move the component to dust.
Might have to try the electrical tape idea........

rubber band. oyaide actually sends little rubber pieces with their connectors to take up the space of the differences from manuf. IECs.
