What I like:
1. Volume Remote Control 2. Dual outputs (XLR and RCA) 3. Rejected(muted) uncompatible signal (e.g. When digital signal is RAW it doesn't crackle like other DAC's when feeding it) 4. Price!?!
You can list what you don't like to...

I like:
1. It mutes itself when changing inputs so no POP sound. 2. Fully balanced design 3. REMOTE CONTROL!! 4. No Pre-amp needed 5. Muted dolby digital input (as mrla stated)
I'd improve: 1. Volume attenuation 2. Dual AD1955's for improved channel seperation 3. SQ - slightly bass heavy, however it has a great high end, but a slightly smeared mid-range. However, I want to give it at least 500 hours of break in time before I come to any SQ conclusions.
Good job Emotiva, it's a quality product.

The soundstage from the XDA-1 is the widest and most detailed that I have ever heard on my Heresy III's.
This holds even when running through my AVR, which I must do because of the of the volume issue.

I love that I can hear lyrics in songs that I didn't notice before, even with the ERC-1. I love the fact that it reproduces everything on the album, and doesn't color the sound with fake "warmth" or any of that crap, it just gives you everything that's there. I love that I can hear little details on the drums that I'd not been able to clearly hear before. I love how it looks perched atop the ERC-1. I love that my girlfriend knows how to use it without too much trouble. I can't wait to hear its fuill potential when I have my new speakers, amplifiers, and subs built.

I particularly like:
It's dynamics at "lower" volumes when used as a digital preamp. Internal Power Supply (no wall-wart, so easy to plug into my surge supressor/AC filter)

Like: Resolution and detail are great.
Don't Like: Default volume at first start up should be 0 for those who might not read these forums.

To serve as feedback in the name of process/product improvement in the future, aesthetically speaking for my XDA-1, the right front foot does dot set flush and/or balance properly while resting on top of my ERC-1.
Looking at pictures of the unit internally, there is no weight inside the front right corner of the XDA-1, so it appears there is nothing to counter balance this with respect to placement of other components, so this is my belief on what I see with my XDA-1, though may not be applicable to all?

I don't know if I have your problem as I removed the footers and rest my XDA-1 on four sorbothane half spheres (which I bought at Edmunds Optics for $24 including shipping). I put virtually all my electronic equipment of them to isolate them from vibrations and etc. Heck, I even use them under my desktop PC. Anyway, this may be a solution to your issue.

corgidog59, you are absolutely, totally right. I use also sorbothane isolation under my electronics. When you study the subject seriously you will see that it is totally ridiculous to use wooden cones or even metal spikes or other contraptions. You want to ABSORB vibrations.

Do they have threaded mounting screws, or are they flat with adhesive? BTW, the Edmunds site lists the hemisphere feet as 16.50, an even better reason to try them out.

henne - thank you for the endorsement. I quickly learned the value of sorbothane when I was working at my desk at home. I have an external HD placed on one of the corners of the desk. I notice that I could rally feel the vibrations of the HD spinning. I tried to put the drive on an extra mouse pad I had but it did nothing. I still felt vibration when I would touch the desktop. Then I bought some very small sorbothane footers and it completely took care of the vibration issue. I was amazed. So, I use it under everything. So, if I was ever stranded on an Island, I would want WD-40, Duct tape, and Sorbothane. lol I plan to post a pic of my system which shows the use of sorbothane. Oh, I also use 6x6 sheet of the stuff on the bottom of my DVD player and DVR as additional vibration absorbtion. DVRs definitley need to be isolated as they generate all sorts of vibration.

I use sorbothane feet on my Directv HR20 DVR and it works wonders. Without it you can feel the hard disc vibrations on the shelf......with it, nothing.
