I just took advantage of the current sale on Emo 8.2 ceiling speakers and added my Emo bucks from buying the UMC-1 and I now have replaced my old 8" ceiling speakers in the great room with some pretty impressive Emos for $49.00.
As ceiling speakers go, I have not expected much other than ambient background sounds, but the Emos fill the high ceiling room with close to full range sound. Great detail. I'm impressed.

HA, I did the same thing today.. $49 so I couldn't pass it up. Now I have to figure out how to get them installed in my bonus room.
edit:
Glad they sound good and look forward to getting them in.

I picked up a pair of 8.2 ceiling speakers during the sale in December, and I finally got around to installing them today. They replace a pair of Paradigm Cinema 90 v. 2 speakers. I wanted the cleaner look of in-ceiling speakers in my living room, and I wanted replacements that sound good. Both objectives were achieved.
I did some testing with a few different blu-ray discs, including an awesome THX trailer (the one with the cool plants that form the THX logo), Transformers and Iron Man 2. They all sounded excellent, even at very high volumes.
I'm watching the latest episode of Spartacus right now, and the surround field seems much better than with the Paradigms.
I am very glad I swapped out my Paradigms for these. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to install in-ceiling speakers.
