Only if its 'right' and with an applicable hard copy of a user's guide.
If not, I do possess the patience to wait until it is 'right', thank you!
Otherwise, I'll return the XSP-1 to sender (Emotiva Audio Corporation, 135 Southeast Parkway Court, Franklin, TN 37064) within the 30 day trial period of which I truly appreciate.

I think you "may" be confusing the XSP-1 with the XMC-1 (UMC-1's "big brother").
Since the XSP-1 is a two channel analog preamp (the "X" version series of the USP-1)..... there's not much to get "wrong".
In rebuttal, as the XSP-1, the recent debut of XDA-1 DAC is/was a two channel product too...
Sure, no doubt, I wanted Santa to deliver an XSP-1 on December 25th but...
And, I may even purchase an XMC-1 though not during the pre order debut, but I'll have to wait at least a year for the processor...
Uh.. okay, I don't know what we're "debating" here, but I think we're talking apples and oranges as the XDA-1 is a pure digital front end and the XSP-1 is purely analog (in and out). There are huge differences between the two units.
I don't need to "wait a year" to purchase an XSP as long as it has what "I" need.
If it is a genuine upgrade, both sonically and operationally, from the USP-1 (which I already own) and it engages HT Bypass by default in the standby mode... I'm in! Where's the boat..... ;D
Besides, all that I'm hoping for is some official INFORMATION and possible status. Last I heard, they were on the water. That was back in November. Regardless, I'm not expecting to see one on my doorstep on December 25th.....

If you're referring to the November podcast, it stated that the XDA-1 was on the water. It also stated that the XSP-1 was going to be released to production very shortly. The last word was that it should be available to the consumer in late February 2011.

Yes, your right on both counts. I had the "on the water" statement confused with the XDA-1.
However, we were also supposed to have a product page with a "reserve" option by now. But hey, I understand if that's not possible yet. I waited a long time for the UMC-1, If we have the XSP-1 by February, that would be awesome.
Getting the "official" information was just a Christmas wish anyway.....
I too would have loved to have had the XSP-1 by Christmas but they say "Good Things Come To Those Who Wait". Or something like that.
Anyway, yeah the wait for the UMC-1 was probably pretty painful for many folks. Glad I wasn't on that list. I'm a 2 channel listener but if I had been looking for a pre/pro at the time I probably would have pulled all my hair out waiting for the UMC-1. The UMC-1 had to go through many revisions and that definitely added to the anxiety.
The big difference between Emotiva and other Manufacturers is that they tell consumers what they are doing ahead of time. Although it creates anticipation it can also create anxiety for many people who just "Gotta Have It Now". I don't want Emotiva to stop this practice because I'm a very happy Emo customer and also very patient. I feel that their products are worth the wait.

I need about six of those right now in the back! And some major work on another half dozen! Guess how many dollars I need all together just for inside the mouth?
* You think Audio is expensive!
