Which are you guys using? I thought PCM makes the player decode the signal, so bitstream would be a better option, but my BDP-83 on bitstream yields no audio. So does the CDP convert the binary on the disk first and then the XDA just enhances it somehow? Probably something they should address in the users manual when it comes out.

The XDA-1 only accepts PCM data as input. If the bitstream isn't PCM, it won't work. The data on the CD is PCM - all the player does is read it from the disc and send the PCM data out over the S/PDIF link.
