Any advantage to switch to UMC Owner of lots of Emotiva gear and generally happy although I tend to find the DMR a little complicated Probably my fault but can't get audio on some HD channels - NFL football; problems with set-up - need to call Emotiva on this when I get some time - 3 kids under 7; but would like some general impressions if I would gain anything by running the UMC over the DMR in dedicated HT room? Would love some help setting up my gear as well - I think i would benefit from this as I seem to be a HT dummy. I have Rotel gear, Arcam, Totems, Onix, Melody, Bryston gear but find the Emotiva stuff (i have two amps plus LMC and DMR) is rock solid and reliable (other than my set up issues and understanding of the DMR). Emotiva and Onix speakers (Ref 1.5s/ Ref 1 and Minis plus Axiom subs) are what runs my HT set-up. It is a nice set-up; definitely different than the Totem and Arcam system I have in my living room. Second question - does 40% discount still apply for owners toward UMC? I think this is a great forum that is largely very respectful. That is another selling point for me. Seems to be some people who do not like Emotiva on some other boards. Thanks and Happy New Year to y'all

Correct, the DMR is essentially a DMC with amp built in.
I also use a DMR for HT, with the external HDMI switching box. Other than getting the additional Blue Ray sound capabilities and HDMI in/out on the UMC, I have no reason to go to it. It's just not anywhere near as reliable and has no phono input. I'm waiting on the XMC, but I fear by the time it comes out, it too, will be outdated.
If you purchased the DMR from Emotiva, you will qualify for the 40% discount on next generation processors.
