If running the XDA directly into a upa-5, how would you hook up dual subs (or single)? Can it be done or is it L+R only?

you can use both the RCA and XLR outputs of the XDA. so if you are going directly from xda to upa then run the xlr outs to your subs. if your sub doesn't have xlr inputs then get one of these - www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10244&cs_id=1024405&p_id=4784&seq=1&format=2that is what i use. what i actually do to avoid the volume issue is i use the 7.1 inputs from my AVR that i use as a pre/pro. so the rca outputs go to the FL & FR AVR inputs. and since i only have 5.1 speaker setup, i send the xlr outputs with the adapters i linked above to the back surround inputs on the AVR. then the FL & FR outputs to my UPA-5 and the BSL & BSR to my dual subs hope this helps

The problem is filtering the sub-80hz (or whatever crossover you choose) from the mains. Though most all subs have internal crossovers on the sub, I am struggling with how to filter the sub-crossover frequencies from the mains...I'd prefer not to have to add the XSP to achieve this..

i've heard of people using FMOD crossovers but i cannot comment as i have never tried this (http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=266-250)
my fronts are ERM 6.2s which roll off at 80 and i use the crossovers on my subs
