You're right, my fault.
To the OP, I'm not sure how the UMC will stack up against the Arcam, but I have heard great things about how the AVR600 sounds incredible. Arcam has always made very good sounding components.

Your best bet is at AVS Forum.
By the way, the AVR600 is way overpriced in my book!
And you might as well compared the UMC-1 with the Arcam FMJ AV888 pre/pro. ...Everything else being equal (except the price of course).

Well I bought the UMC-1 and it was better than the AVR600. Better sound stage, better seperation with only the bass extension superior in the AVR600.
I sold the Arcam and now await a Stereo amp to pair with the UMC-1. the XSP-1 seems to be lost so may have to look at an older Krell or the like to do Stereo.

Not only you saved a huge chunk of cash but the Arcam FMJ AVR600 A/V Receiver is jammed packed with issues! ...Way more than the UMC-1! * You simply chose What's Best for the money!
