I'm considering a pair of these for another room for two channel, non critical listening.
Can anyone comment on the sonic merits of these? Bass response?
Thanks!

I'll hook up my UAW-8.2s to the front channels later today and give it a listen.

i have the UAC 8.2s and they are pretty full nice highs and some depth. i think as others the walls act as a cabinet and can help or hurt in some cases...

Ok, I hooked them up (to my XPA-5), and against my low expectations I thought they did surprisingly well with music. I could easily recommend them for ambient/background music, and had I never listened to full-range towers I would think these sounded more than adequate. I popped in some Diana Krall, Jack Johnson, and Jonny Lang, and I felt vocals were open enough and not too restrained like many bookshelves I've listened to over the years; highs and overall midrange were smooth. However, if you have any desire for bass you will need to run them with a sub as that was what was lacking. I ran them to 85 db in Pure Direct, and also 2 CH Stereo + sub with and without Audyssey. I preferred 2 CH Stereo + sub without Audyssey, however for background, non-critical, low/moderate level listening they'd be perfect without a sub as to not be too distracting. Bottom line, if I were pressed for space I wouldn't have any complaints using them as mains with a sub.
That said, of course your mileage may very. However, for the original $169 price that I paid I have absolutely no complaints.

There are already in walls there now so I might as well try something else. I have no room for floor standers and its only casual listening, parties etc... Best!!
