Had a little trouble with the search function, so pardon me if this has been discussed before. Just got my XDA-1 notification, and now I'm wondering if I should get it. Not so much whether I should get this DAC, but any DAC at all. My dilemma is that I have a Mac Mini, which I am using for movies and music. Unless I'm missing something, you have to set the output device in the control panel, and there can be only one, so it seems like it's not possible to hook the Mac Mini up to the XDA-1 and the UMC-1 without constantly switching output devices in the control panel. While I might be okay with that, my wife surely won't put up with it. Any suggestions?

You could use a Apple TV and stream to it via wireless. It works very well in my setup and I don't even have to turn on the tv when just listening to music. I just use the free iphone app.

I plan on using an Apple TV with XBMC installed on it and connected to the XDA-1. Should be quite the Home Theater PC.

Maybe you can ask over at Computeraudiophile.com or some Apple forum.

The latest XDA-1 owners manual talks about connection to a MAC. You should be able to do it via the USB connection or optical and then analog to the UMC-1.

At the suggestion of Trey, I looked at the manual for the XDA-1 and discovered that if you use USB to the Mac Mini, it gets configured via the MIDI application. I wonder if you can have two output devices somehow? Off to the Apple Store this weekend.
