Hi,
are yours XDAs have the same front panel colour like rest of emo equipment? Mine is clearly lighter.

Mine, also, does not quite match. Maybe different anodiizing companies.? Different dye lots? Not really noticeable unless the components are stacked (or you really look hard).

The pad print on my components are different shades and the intensity of the lights (lumens) are different between components. If that was more important to me than great sound at affordable (for my income) money then I know exactly where to go for a higher level of fit and finish. Quality Assurance/Control takes money; money that is directly passed on to the consumer in the cost of the product. For the price I paid for my gear I'll take my quality on the inside of the box rather than the outside, thank you very much.

Maybe spray paint trim pieces bright orange, yellow, or pink, then that would distract the eye from the different hues of black.
It doesn't seem right that there should be fluctuations in those regards -- including the different hues of blue lights, or intensity. Seems like those things should just be a standard set of values...

I wonder if the new shipments coming in will be better...I'm not so distracted by it...in fact I didnt even notice it nor did several other people who are all Emo clients.
I am much more fussy about what's inside (granted I dont like the Al side strips and remove them along with the screws) but I have so much other gear that is not even black to worry too much about if one of my emo boxes is not 100% the same.

I don't like the sidestrips either...but the the empty screw holes are worse.

Jeeze that is off...... Sometimes at work we get different colors too. We just call the anodizers and whine. They fix it right away but not like we can do this. They said the reason for the different colors was how long it was dipped. The longer, the darker the black will look. Maybe since they were rushing to get them to the states they didn't dip them long enough.
Oh also the color can vary because they didn't mix the batch right or the voltage is off.

Doesn't bother me. I have different makes of equipment and everything is different. Emotiva gear is well-built. I do understand where people are coming from, but I certainly can live with it. The sound from the XDA-1 is spectacular.

The funny thing is that Gearhead didn't post anything but a link followed by about 50 lines of nothing. Gee, thanks Gearhead for that informative post - you really added a lot to this discussion...

Yeah, I noticed all the excess space in that post, so I got rid of it.
