USB asynchronous?

Do we know if the USB input on the XDA-1 is asynchronous?

If not I will be considering buying the V-Link to connect between my music server and the XDA-1.

I've never called EMO to verify it so I don't know for sure, but I would be extremely surprised if it is. I would think that licensing a "driverless" version from someone like Gordon Rankin at Wavelength would be beyond the price point of the XDA and I've seen no drivers offered by EMO to support async operation 'a la Musiland or HiFace.
